Tyler, Texas (Tyler Motorcycle Accident Lawyer News) — Tyler police are searching for the driver of a sport utility vehicle (SUV) that plowed down a motorcyclist then fled the scene in north Tyler, reports the East Texas motorcycle accident attorneys at PRW Lawyers.
The motorcyclist, 63-year-old “Jimmy” Lee was hit on Thursday, November 3, 2011, just after 9 a.m., at the intersection of Englewood and Gentry Parkway by a dark blue or possibly black Suburban or Yukon, reported KLTV.
Responding emergency crews rushed Lee via ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. Reports indicate that Lee may have suffered broken bones in the collision.
One witnesses reported an absence of screeching wheels or tires, which would have indicated the motorist attempted to stop prior to the collision, KLTV revealed.
Tyler police are searching for the driver of the SUV, which has damage to the front of the vehicle. If you see a vehicle that fits the description, or have any information related to the crash, to please contact the Tyler Police Department.

• Don’t be fooled by a flashing turn signal on a motorcycle – motorcycle signals are often not self-canceling and riders sometimes forget to turn them off.
• Wait to be sure the motorcycle is going to turn before you proceed.
• Allow more following distance - three or four seconds - when behind a motorcycle so the motorcyclist has enough time to maneuver or stop in an emergency.
• Never tailgate. In dry conditions, motorcycles can stop more quickly than cars.
• Never drive while distracted.
