PRLog - Mar. 6, 2014 - SOUTHGATE, Mich. -- On Thursday, March 13th, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, the Downriver Small Business Conference will have its 7th annual session.  The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Southgate Banquet & Conference Center, 17201 Northline Rd, Southgate, MI 48195.  Registration for the event can be found online or in person on the day of the event.

The annual conference was the brainchild and creation of Mark Tremper, the Vice-President of Marketing & Community Development for the Downriver Community Federal Credit Union (DCFCU).  “I realized there is a wealth of knowledgeable speakers in the South East Michigan region and many businesses and community organizations would benefit from a local, cost-conscious event providing relevant and effective insights,” explained Mark.

Sessions will be presented by Glenn Macintosh, Mario Toussaint, m’ Arch McCarty, Eleni Kelakos and Billye Thompson with the following session titles - Don’t Let the Odds Intimidate You: Be the Game Changer; Leading with Meaning; What’s Fun About That? Show Business and Your Business; Once Upon a Time: Storytelling Techniques for Persuasive Presentations; Total Market Dominance: Strategies to Beat the Competition, respectively.

"I am looking forward to attending the 7th annual Downriver Small Business Conference.  Every year gets better and better - filled with exceptional speakers and attendees from local businesses and community organizations - it is a productive and informative day," shared Kathy Koze, an attendee alumni, Send Out Cards Distributor and Ambassador for the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber.

The event also offers the opportunity for local businesses that sponsor the event to display their wares by providing a trade exhibition area.  Additionally, sponsors of the event receive valuable exposure in the community.  Sponsors like the Michigan Business Advantage, Sign-A-Rama, Henry Ford Village Senior Living, Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber, A Serendipity Cakery, Downriver & Detroit Business Association, Clear Horizon Wealth Advisors, Downriver Association of Realtors, & the Michigan Business & Professional Association are prime examples of the diversity of the entities and participants that are in attendance each year.  For more information about the conference, please contact Mark Tremper at 313-386-2200, extension 1202, or visit the Downriver Small Business Conference webpage.

The event provides yet another opportunity for SE Michigan residents, in the Downriver area, to experience the ongoing opportunities provided by DCFCU. Throughout the year there are many events created and sponsored by the Credit Union that solidifies their commitment to the community and its members.
