George, board certified orthopaedic surgeon at KSF Orthopaedic Center, P.A., is performing the Arthroscopic Latarjet procedure at the facility. The Arthroscopic Latarjet Procedure was initially developed in France. It is performed for patients whose shoulders repeatedly dislocate to the point that the bone of the socket (glenoid) is damaged and deficient. The Latarjet has been performed through large open incisions for many years and has gained popularity over the past several years. The arthroscopic technique is a very new way to perform this surgery that has only recently been developed. The potential advantages include smaller incisions, less soft tissue damage, and faster recovery compared to the open procedure. Dr. George is one of the few surgeons in Texas that is performing this technique.

He has perfected this technique in the lab with cadaver specimens prior to performing it on his patients as this procedure is technically challenging and requires a high level of skill and experience. Dr. George is confident that the new procedure will provide relief for his patients while allowing them to quickly regain mobility and enjoy activities that were painful prior to the procedure.
