Former Toys “R” Us Chairman and CEO John H. Eyler Jr. Joins SpendSmart Board of Directors

SpendSmart Networks, Inc. (OTC:SSPC) (“SpendSmart” or “the Company”), a provider of digital customer loyalty systems and services, today announced the appointment of John H. Eyler Jr. to its Board of Directors as an independent director. With the addition of Mr. Eyler, the Company’s Board of Directors increases to nine members.

Mr. Eyler served as chairman and CEO of Toys "R" Us Inc. from 2000 to 2005, during which time he restructured the balance sheet, upgraded talent, reduced expenses, rebuilt systems, renovated worn-out stores, and developed a state-of-the-art supply chain. From 1992 to 2000, Mr. Eyler was chairman and CEO of FAO Schwarz, Inc., and led the company to its most profitable year in its 133-year history in 1995 with strong results continuing through the end of his tenure. His lifelong career in retail included becoming chairman and CEO of May D & F at the age of 32.

Mr. Eyler received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Washington and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
