Salin Bank & Trust Company Adds to Its Agricultural Lending Team

Family owned and Indiana-based Salin Bank and Trust Company today announced that Matthew Wright has joined the financial institution as Vice President, Ag Banker, for the Lafayette market and surrounding counties.

Wright brings an impressive resume in the agricultural finance business to his new position with Salin Bank. From 2008 to 2014, he served as the Financial Services Officer of Farm Credit Mid America in Anderson/Crawfordsville/Lafayette, Indiana. During his time there, Wright created strong relationships with agricultural producers, contacts and key influencers, while executing all loan servicing and leasing agreements for the company’s products and related services.

Wright’s experience in the agricultural and farming industry extends to his family’s farm, Sunny Ridge Farms, in New Castle, Indiana. He began working on the family farm in various capacities since he was eight-years-old and continues today.

He further honed his agricultural and sales skills at Smith Implements in Greenfield, Indiana, where he held several positions from 2003 to 2008. Among those roles, he served as an AMS Sales Consultant and was responsible for the sales and marketing efforts of John Deere Ag Management Solutions products.

Wright is a “Graduate of Distinction” from Purdue University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Systems Management and a Minor in Food & Agribusiness Management in 2002.

Wright served as chairman of Ducks Unlimited in New Castle from 2005 to 2012 and remains active with the Ducks Unlimited organization which is the world's leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation. Today Wright is active with the Purdue University collegiate chapter and as the District 5 Field Coordinator.
