International Tourism Expert Roger Brooks Is In Love With Tinley Park

Mayors and residents usually wax poetic about their village and its amenities, but when Roger Brooks, an internationally recognized expert in tourism and destination marketing, says someplace is special, convention and meeting planners, travelers and group tour planners should take notice. “I’ve been in all 50 states and around the world and if I was moving to the Midwest, I’d pick Tinley Park,” Brooks said.

After a week-long assessment of the community, Brooks noted, “What you have here is amazing. Tinley Park is full of beautiful, stunning facilities.” The athletic facilities and waterpark are “fabulous and exceptional. We loved all the little community parks everywhere. The schools look good. We loved all the trails winding through the community. All the facilities - and homes - are well-maintained. We saw the allure of Tinley Park and completely saw why Tinley Park was chosen “America’s Best Place To Raise Your Kids.”

“When we saw the downtown, we said, “Oh, my god.” It is really cute, an intimate setting with great restaurants. Everywhere we went, we had good food and good service. Isabella was just a fantastic little restaurant. The bronze large statuary in the gardens was wonderful, with the focus on family, children and community. We love this downtown.” Brooks also complimented the outstanding attitudes of all the service workers. He remarked that everyone had positive things to say about Tinley and always with a smile. “Even when I set them up to say something negative, they never bit. They had nothing but good things to tell me.”

The Metra stations, which have won national architecture awards, were “incredible”, according to Brooks. He especially loved the “Kiss and Ride” signs at each station, asserting they lent the town a quality of affection and fun. “As we traveled 183rd Street from one end of the village to the other, we noted the variety and quality of housing; even Tinley’s business and industrial parks are beautifully landscaped and maintained.”

“I love this place,” Brooks enthused. “It looks like a great place to live. We are 100% sold on Tinley Park.”
