HilltopSecurities Welcomes Experienced Team of Public Finance Investment Bankers

Hilltop Securities Inc. announced today that five experienced investment bankers based out of St. Louis, Missouri, East Lansing, Michigan, and Chicago, Illinois, have joined the firm’s Public Finance team.

Managing Directors Chris Collier and Reagan Holliday, along with Directors Ben McGuire and Kate DeProsperis, join HilltopSecurities from Edward Jones. Director Ed Kurth joined HilltopSecurities in late 2015 from Cabrera Capital Markets. All have worked extensively in the Midwest and bring billions of dollars in combined transactional experience to the firm.

Mr. Collier and Ms. Holliday operate out of St. Louis, Missouri, while Mr. McGuire is based in East Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Kurth is based out of Chicago, Illinois, as is Ms. DeProsperis who works closely with all four bankers.

About Chris Collier

Mr. Collier joins HilltopSecurities as Managing Director. He worked for Edward Jones’ Public Finance Department for the past 17 years, most recently as a Senior Investment Banker, where he managed approximately 365 municipal bond transactions with a total par amount of $15.7 billion. Mr. Collier’s public finance business focused primarily on senior managed underwritings for universities, cities, counties and school districts in Illinois, Missouri and Minnesota. He holds an MBA from Lindenwood University.

About Reagan Holliday

Ms. Holliday joins HilltopSecurities as Managing Director. She has over 18 years of professional and legal experience, most recently as an Investment Banker at Edward Jones, where she primarily focused on senior managing municipal bond transactions in Missouri, Indiana, Kansas and Arkansas for a variety of issuers including universities, cities, counties and school districts. Prior to her time with Edward Jones, Ms. Holliday practiced public finance law with Gilmore and Bell P.C. and was the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Cape Girardeau, Mo. She currently serves on the national Board of Directors for Women in Public Finance. She is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law.

About Ben McGuire

Mr. McGuire joins HilltopSecurities as a Director. He has worked in public finance for the past 13 years, most recently at Edward Jones, where he originated tax-exempt bond issues while focusing on general municipal and higher education issuers across Michigan and Ohio. A significant portion of Mr. McGuire’s career was spent as an Assistant Director in the Michigan Department of Treasury where he was responsible for the Michigan Finance Authority’s financings for student loans, the unemployment obligation trust fund and various conduit issuers. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.

About Ed Kurth

Mr. Kurth joined HilltopSecurities as a Director in late 2015 and provides banking coverage to major municipal issuers in the Midwest and on the East Coast. In addition to traditional bond financing solutions, he provides issuers with new revenue-generating ideas and budget strategies as well as financial advisory services on P3 transactions. Prior to joining HilltopSecurities, Mr. Kurth was a Senior Vice President at Cabrera Capital Markets. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University in New Orleans.

About Kate DeProsperis

Ms. DeProsperis joins HilltopSecurities as a Director. She has over 15 years of public finance experience. Most recently she worked as a transaction banker at Edward Jones, building upon her previous public finance experience at Banc of America Securities and Citigroup Global Markets. Ms. DeProsperis’ primary focus is providing transaction support for municipal bond transactions in the Midwest for a variety of issuers including universities, cities, counties and school districts. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.
