The Distillery of Modern Art (DOMA), a craft distillery combining the world of spirits with the world of contemporary art, announces today its selection of Chamblee, Georgia to house its first location. Set to open this fall, the distillery owned by Seth Watson will focus its efforts first on distilling gin and vodka, followed shortly by a variety of American whiskeys and distinctive liqueurs.
Partnered with BoggsVickers architectural firm, DOMA will convert a 15,000-square-foot office and warehouse into a production area for the craft distillery, a retail and exhibition space with a tasting room and bar component, and a space for private events. The building itself will serve as a piece of modern art for visitors. As contemporary art is transformative and reveals itself differently to each individual, the form of the building changes its appearance from day into night as well.
