FHA Commissioner to Receive Housing Award, Discuss Federal Housing Efforts at Lenders One Bi-Annual Winter Conference

Assistant Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner, Brian Montgomery, will address members of Lenders One Mortgage Cooperative at the company's winter conference about the federal response to the challenges facing the mortgage and housing industry.

On February 13, President Bush signed economic stimulus legislation, which includes significant new tools to assist homeowners obtain federally backed mortgages.

Montgomery oversees the Federal Housing Administration, an agency which received an expanded role under the new law.

Also at the conference, Montgomery will also receive the Lenders One Hero of Housing Award for his efforts on behalf of American homeowners at a challenging time in the housing market.

The Lenders One conference will bring together 100 of the nations leading mortgage banking companies in Tucson, Arizona, February 25-27 at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. Commissioner Montgomery will keynote the conference at noon on Mon., Feb. 25.

Commissioner Montgomery has been a leading voice on housing issues and we are pleased to honor him for his service, said Scott Stern, CEO of Lenders One.

Other scheduled sessions will explore Fannie Maes proposition to help lenders return to safe, and reliable products and a new, initiative on how to service the manufactured housing segment. A session on the small balance market and commercial real estate lending will examine products and services in order to diversify offerings.
