DISPLAY Taiwan 2008 Unites to Offer the Big Picture!

To offer the best ever venue for the worlds leading producer of FPD products, previous scattered producers and exhibitors are uniting their strengths for the largest-scale most professional DISPLAY Taiwan.

For the first time four major Taiwan groups will be working together to offer this event. These organizations are TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council, PIDA (the Photonics Industry & Technology Development Association), SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International), and TCA (Taipei Computer Association).

The show, coming this June 11 to June 13 at TWTC Exhibition Hall 1, is the product of nearly a decade of exhibitions and brings together 261 domestic and international manufacturers to use more than 700 booths.

And whats also building this event into a super show is that its running in conjunction with Photonics Festival in Taiwan, an overlapping activity that is expected to attract more 35,000 domestic and international buyers and trade professionals.

A literal Whos Who in Taiwans panel industry will be at this show including such big names as AU Optronics, Chimei, Chunghwa Picture Tubes, Wintek, RiTdisplay, Chi Mei El Corporation, and famous international flat panel display manufacturers such as AKT, JSR, Nikon, Nissan Chemical, Hitachi, Corning, and 3M.

Meanwhile major multinationals will be at the show representing the 11 countries of the U.S., France, Germany, U.K., Holland, Austria, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and China. Meanwhile, the Korea Display Industry Association (KDIA) and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), in light of the great reputation received by the Korea Pavilion last year, will once again lead Korean manufacturers to Taiwan for the show. Taking advantage of the favorable situation, the organizers this year have also planned the Germany Pavilion to successfully introduce German flat panel display manufacturers to the show.

To make this the best ever show the private and public sector have teamed up as never before. The Bureau of Foreign Trade plus the Industrial Development Bureau, both under the Ministry of Economic Affairs has worked extensively with major domestic manufacturers like the Taiwan TFT LCD Association (TTLA), Taiwan Flat Panel Display Materials and Devices Association (TDMDA), Color Imaging Industry Promotion Office (CIPO) to make this show shine.

With the show comes DISPLAY Taiwan 2008 Business & Technology Forum that provides excellent trade and market briefings from international industrial survey institutions and associations. Such famed Korean, Japanese, and Chinese institutions will be there including Korean Displaybank, Japanese Techno Systems Research and TCL from China.

With them will be experts from leading domestic and international manufacturers such as Corning, LG, Kodak, AU Optronics, CHIMEI, Chi Lin, Chunghwa Picture Tubes, Prime View International, and INNOLUX who will give insiders on the latest hi tech applications and developments including touch panels, digital signage, 3D display technology, and emerging technologies like organic light-emitting diode (OLED), soft display (e-paper display), and micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS).

Exclusively for this show the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council have flown in key VIP buyers to visit the show, including BEKO ELEKTRONIK A.S. from Turkey, UNIVERSAL GROUP FOR TRADING & INDUSTRY from Egypt, CIOCE, S.A. from Spain, KITA MFG. CO., LTD. from Japan, PROTAC INTL COMPUTERS NEW ZEALAND LTD. from New Zealand. There will also be hundreds of buyers from China are coming to Taiwan on special procurement tours.

Incentives & Awards spur the industry

With the show comes the 2008 Gold Panel Awards that is organized by CIPO of the Industrial Development Bureau under special instruction of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Outstanding Photonics Product Award 2008 organized by PIDA. These awards will be presented at the opening ceremony and are expected to help inspire industry to develop innovative technologies, modify existing design, and promote the overall image and international competitiveness.
