STATKING Consulting, Inc., a provider of data related services for clinical trials, is announcing the promotion of Marla Hoelle from Section Head of Project Management and Clinical Trials Manager to Director of Project Management effective July 1, 2008. STATKING Consulting, Inc. is also announcing two new hires, Scott Horton, Director of Statistical Programming and Jeff Osterhaus, Senior Contracts Manager effective June 1, 2008.
Ms. Hoelle brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role. She has provided medical expertise to the development of clinical study protocols in a number of therapeutic areas. She has performed clinical trial management functions and clinical study monitoring activities on clinical trials. She supervises all clinical study monitoring activities at STATKING. Ms. Hoelle has also supervised clinical trials, coordinated with sponsors in negotiations between sites and investigators, managed Investigational Review Board IRB documentation and conducted investigator meetings. Ms. Hoelle has worked in clinical research for the past fifteen years holding positions as clinical study coordinator, research nurse and clinical project manager during that time. She holds a BS in nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She is a registered nurse.
Scott Horton joined STATKING Consulting, Inc. as Director of Statistical Programming on June 1, 2008. Mr. Horton is a Certified SAS Programmer (version 9 Base SAS Programming). His expertise in SAS programming extends also to SAS/STAT, and the SAS Macro Language. Mr. Horton has been either the statistician or statistical programmer for numerous clinical studies and he has written hundreds of programs to analyze clinical data in a variety of therapeutic areas. Mr. Horton has also led data management activities at three organizations prior to joining SCI. He has overseen the design, development, and implementation of data management plans, databases, data entry screens, and logic checks in support of clinical trials. Mr. Horton has over 17 years of Statistics and Clinical Data Management experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Horton received an M.S. degree in statistics in 1990 from Brigham Young University and a B.S. in statistics in 1988 from Brigham Young University.
Jeff Osterhaus joined STATKING Consulting, Inc. as Senior Contracts Manager on June 1, 2008. Mr. Osterhaus will be responsible for all contracts negotiated between SCI and its clients. Mr. Osterhaus will also assist with marketing efforts and various other special projects. Mr. Osterhaus has a background in cost accounting and financial analysis and has been in the clinical research industry for the last 9 years. Prior to joining SCI, Mr. Osterhaus was a cost accounting manager and a project financial analyst with Kendle International, Inc. In those roles, Mr. Osterhaus managed the revenue and investigator accounting processes as well as supported project leaders and functional team leads in budget management with an emphasis on preparing changes in scope. Mr. Osterhaus received a B.S. degree in finance in 1994 from Miami University.
