DAN DUNMOYER, FORMER TOP AIDE TO CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR SCHWARZENEGGER, TO LEAD STATE GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS FOR FARMERS AND ZURICH IN THE US

Farmers Insurance Groups of Companies® and Zurich Financial Services are pleased to announce Dan Dunmoyer, who recently served as Chief Cabinet Secretary and Deputy Chief of Staff for California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, has accepted a national, executive position as Head of State Legislative and Regulatory Affairs for Farmers Insurance and Zurich Financial Services in the United States.

"We are extremely pleased that Dan will be joining the Farmers/Zurich organization in this critically important executive position," said Paul N. Hopkins, Chairman of Farmers Group, Inc and CEO of the Americas for Zurich Financial Services Group. "In state, national and international public policy and political circles, Dan has built a stellar, rock-solid reputation that is second to none. We are honored to now count Dan as a member of the Farmers/Zurich executive team."

As Senior Vice President and Head of State Legislative and Regulatory Affairs in the U.S., Mr. Dunmoyer will be responsible for leading a national team situated in state capitols and major cities across the country. He will provide overall strategic direction and guidance for existing state political grassroots programs and networks, which include thousands of small business, financial service professionals representing Farmers and Zurich in every corner of the United States.

"I am thrilled about this opportunity to build upon an already strong state government affairs operation, which includes a national grassroots network of small business people,” said Mr. Dunmoyer. "Farmers and Zurich are industry leaders and there are no limits to how much this organization can grow, develop and become even stronger."

Mr. Hopkins said that Mr. Dunmoyer's experience in California state government and the private sector has "perfectly positioned" him for a high-level executive assignment for a global organization such as Farmers/Zurich.

"Serving alongside a state, national and international leader like Governor Schwarzenegger in a state the size of California has prepared Dan to deal with the challenges and complexities faced by a global financial services company," Mr. Hopkins stated.

"As our organization strives to pro-actively maximize our effectiveness in this challenging and volatile political, economic and regulatory environment, we need a respected, credible leader like Dan Dunmoyer, who is equally effective on both sides of the political aisle," Mr. Hopkins added.

From 2005 until the present, Mr. Dunmoyer has held senior level leadership positions in Governor Schwarzenegger’s administration as Chief Cabinet Secretary and Deputy Chief of Staff; and as Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor for Policy Development. In his most recent position, Mr. Dunmoyer advised the Governor on the daily management activities for all state agencies and departments for the state of California.

From 1996 until 2005, Mr. Dunmoyer worked in the private sector as President and CEO of the Personal Insurance Federation of California (PIFC), the largest and leading personal insurance lines trade association in California. He joined PIFC in 1989 as Vice President of Legislative Policy. Before his tenure with PIFC, Mr. Dunmoyer worked in the California State Legislature where his service included Chief Administrative Officer for the State Assembly Republican Caucus; and as the Senior Consultant for the Assembly Finance and Insurance Committee.

Mr. Dunmoyer is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in public administration. He also attended Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.
