FDA chief says pharmas use rebates to block biosimilar competition

Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Scott Gottlieb Wednesday blamed pharmaceutical companies for manipulating rebates to stymie competition, which blocks patients’ access to affordable copycat drugs and costs them billions in higher-cost medicine.
