Shanghai, China – On November 16, Double Dutch Contest Shanghai vol.9 successfully concluded at Qingli Square Sports Center in Qingpu District, Shanghai.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman of China Shuttlecock Association Yang Shande, Vice Chairman of the China Youth Sports Federation Liu Yaqun，First-Class Inspector of the Shanghai Sports Bureau Song Hui, Deputy District Mayor of the People’s Government of Qingpu District, Shanghai Zhang Yan，Deputy Party Secretary of Shanghai University of Sport and President of Shanghai Shuttlecock Association Pan Qin, Director of the Mass Sports Department of the Shanghai Sports Bureau Gui Jinsong, Director of Shanghai Social Sports (Competition) Management Center Zheng Haobin, Party Secretary of the Qingpu District Sports Bureau, Shanghai Hu Yongqing，jointly launched the event.
Global Elite Gather, Setting a New Record in Event Scale
This event attracted elite athletes from 10 countries and regions, including Australia, South Korea, France, and Hungary, with the proportion of overseas athletes reaching an all-time high. In addition, Double Dutch athletes from 10 provinces, municipalities directly under the Central Government, and autonomous regions such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Xinjiang, Gansu, and Hainan also gathered here. The rhythms of East and West converged, and the styles of North and South collided, making this venue a true global Double Dutch gala connecting China with the world!
The winners will gain direct access to the 2026 DOUBLE DUTCH ONE´S World Finals. During the two-day fierce competition, athletes competed fiercely in events such as DDC SPEED (30s) and Performance. The team of Huang Junkai, Jiang Dali, and Wang Yinan – the creators of the DDC SPEED (30s) event record as the “Quantum Jumpers” – broke the previous record of 276 times with 280 times, setting a new record of an average of 9.33 times per second and demonstrating the outstanding strength of China’s new generation of Double Dutch athletes. In the highly anticipated final of the DD-ONE´S Individual Battle, South Korean athlete Seungya won the championship with a stable performance.
Taking Double Dutch as a Medium to Build a Diversified Cultural Exchange Platform
A single Double Dutch rope connects cross-border friendship and exchanges. Athletes of different skin colors and languages gathered on the same field to connect through Double Dutch. As a featured segment, the International Double Dutch Training Camp invited several world champions to provide on-site guidance, building a platform for Chinese and foreign athletes to exchange skills and learn from each other.
The Carnival Market was extremely popular. The participation of catering and leisure brands such as Gaishi, Yuandong, and Sanshi, along with interactive activities including Frisbee Nine-Grid, Touhu (Pot Throwing), Cross Fire, Speed Basketball, and Dart Machine, created an immersive experience for audiences of all age groups. After the event, campus performances will be organized, allowing international athletes to visit primary and secondary schools, give performances, and conduct interactive exchanges, sowing the seeds of love for sports in the hearts of young people.
Events Empower the City, Qingpu Leaps to a New Rhythm of Development

Statistics show that during the event, the customer flow in surrounding business districts increased significantly, and hotel occupancy rates rose substantially, successfully converting the “traffic” of the event into an “increase” driving local consumption. With “Sports +” as the core, the event links Jiangnan culture, tourism experience, and commercial consumption, promoting the brand building of Qingpu and allowing every participant to feel the unique charm of “QCloser to Qingpu, Closer to Beauty”.
