Amicus Therapeutics (Nasdaq: FOLD) raised $225 million through a common stock offering.
On the downside
Agios Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: AGIO) reported positive interim data from a Phase 1 study of AG-348 but the stock price fell.
Concerns that Peabody Energy (Nasdaq: BTU) may have to pay substantially more for environmental damage insurance sent the stock price down.
Esperion Therapeutics (Nasdaq: ESPR) extended its losses.
In the broad market, declining issues outpaced advancers by a margin of more than 5 to 3 on the NYSE and by nearly 3 to 2 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 dropped 14 points to 2094. Bitcoin added $1 to $230.
