In trading on Wednesday, the SPDR S&P Biotech ETF (XBI) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 8.8% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Ionis Pharmaceuticals (IONS), up about 24.9% and shares of Ariad Pharmaceuticals (ARIA), up about 18.4% on the day.
