Citi Recognized as Industry Leader in Structured Products

Citi was recognized as an industry Leader in Structured Products at the annual mtn-i Americas Structured Note Showcase and Awards Gala in Miami. The Bank received top honors in two categories: U.S. Investor Solutions and House of the Year.

The award for U.S. Investor Solutions was given to Citi for its successful Citi Market Strategy (CMS) Floating-Rate Note Series. In a rising rate environment, Citi spotted the market opportunity for CMS floaters and made a big push throughout 2015.

“Our structured investments are designed to meet a range of financial goals including yield enhancement, hedging risk and access to global markets,” said Barbara Mullaney, Global Head of Citi Private Client Solutions. “These accolades are a testament to Citi’s commitment to providing our clients with best-of-breed solutions. We are honored to be recognized for our innovation and achievements in this space.”

The bank was also named House of the Year for its Latin America Structured Products. Citi’s structured funds platform enables investors in Brazil to keep their assets in the country, in local currency, while accessing international markets. This offering resulted in Citi being ranked #1 in structured funds for Brazil in 2015. In Mexico, Citi maintains an onshore issuance platform for warrants, certificates of deposit and banking bonds serving high-net worth and broad retail investors. For high-net worth investors in Mexico, Citi also completed one of the industry’s largest warrants transactions in 2015.

“Our dedication to expanding our world-class structured products and solutions across asset classes in Latin America remains strong,” said Carlos Martin, Head of Latam Sales and Structured Investments. “The Latin America market is a key area of focus for us, and we will continue to enhance our offerings to better serve our clients throughout the region.”

The awards were presented to Citi by mtn-i, a London-based global provider of market information for global structured notes, private placements and MTN market coverage.

Citi, the leading global bank, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 160 countries and jurisdictions. Citi provides consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with a broad range of financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.
