CitiDirect BESM Ranked #1 in Greenwich Associates’ Online Services Benchmarking Study

CitiDirect BESM, Citi’s institutional e-banking platform, has again been ranked number one in Greenwich Associates’ Online Services Benchmarking study. This is the eighth consecutive year that Citi has received this distinction in the study which assesses “Best of Breed” features and functionality in the online and other electronic (e.g., file-based) channels that differentiate treasury and cash management providers globally.

In addition to being ranked the top provider overall, CitiDirect BE received the highest rating of any other provider in 29 categories including:

  • Online Help/Support
  • User Authentication
  • Connectivity and File Services
  • Cross Product Integration
  • ACH/EFT/Non-urgent Payments
  • Wire Transfers
  • Transaction Search/Item Inquiry
  • Cash Position/Liquidity Management/Forecasting

Conducted by Greenwich Associates, an independent research and consulting firm, the annual study evaluates online banking applications and scores them based on over 40 evaluation factors and 1,500 sub criteria. It serves as a barometer of market trends and development priorities that can provide a forward-view of next-generation capabilities. This year 26 banks and non-banks participated in the survey with the bank group consisting of elite global and regional peers in the Transaction Banking industry.

The Greenwich Associates study evaluated Citi’s entire online banking solution set, including CitiDirect BE, CitiDirect BESM Mobile, CitiDirect BESM Tablet, CitiConnect®, and FX PulseSM. With increasing focus by banks on mobile, CitiDirect BE Mobile stood above the competition with its rich set of capabilities including availability on multiple devices/carriers, ability to approve and release payments and alerts and notifications for transactions and balances. Similarly, Citi’s integration and files services capabilities, offered through its proprietary connectivity platform, CitiConnect, scored well reflecting users’ ability to download account activity in multiple formats, compliance with SWIFT standards as well as its full range of compatible file formats.

“We are extremely proud to have been recognized again by Greenwich Associates for our client focus and investments. Driven by client demand, banking systems are rapidly converging across the desktop, mobile, tablet and direct connectivity channels. Our strategy is to focus on a seamless and consistent cross-channel client experience, and this recognition is a very strong endorsement of our approach for the CitiDirect BE solution set.” said Hubert JP Jolly, Global Head of Treasury and Trade Solutions’ Channel and Enterprise Services business at Citi.

Mr. Marc Harrison, a consultant at Greenwich Associates and global program manager for Online Services Benchmarking added, “Leading platforms such as CitiDirect BE are addressing the emerging need of corporate treasury professionals for access to information that can provide insights and decision support wherever they are.
