In uncertain financial times, it's always good to have some actual cash in your pocket - and the next best thing is to have some "cash cows" in your portfolio. We're not talking commodities here. Rather, we mean cash-rich companies with plenty of "moo-lah" to reinvest in their own growth, or in share buybacks or increased dividends for stockholders. The expression "cash cow" means just what it sounds like: Something that, once acquired and paid off, can produce consistent cash flow over its lifespan.
