U.S. stock futures signal lower open for equities

* U.S. stock index futures pointed to a weaker open on Wall Street on Wednesday, extending losses to a sixth straight session, with futures for the S&P 500 , for the Dow Jones and for the Nasdaq 100 down 0.4 to 0.6 percent.
