Good Corporate Citizenship Helps Kids Play Team Sports

US Team Swag uses crowd-funding to bolster and expand its mandate of good corporate citizenship.

Ancaster, ON -- (ReleaseWire) -- 10/22/2014 -- After enjoying success with its Canadian Operations, Team Swag (souvenirs, wearables and gifts) Canada is expanding its operations to the US market with the launch of US Team Swag. Its growth plans include a savvy campaign for crowd-funding.

The corporate concept is basic, but it draws from the popular notion of balance between profits and philanthropy, hence its crowd-funding approach. Team Swag Canada, and now US Team Swag, operates on the fundamental principle that a portion of revenues can be donated to make lives better.

A total of 20% of each sale made through Team Swag’s on-line stores is paid back (they call it “Played Forward”) into community sports organizations, from leagues to teams to individuals, enabling everyone to play. The teams enjoy a donation of 15% of all sales, which they in turn use for the purchase of clothing, equipment, travel and other costs of running a community amateur sports organization. The funds are also used to enable players who want to join, but lack the income to afford participation. That’s a staggering one-third of North American families.

The other 5% is returned to individual on-line store patrons in the form of credits to future purchases, which encourages them to buy again, and then the 15% goes to the teams and players. To date, Team Swag Canada has seen many thousands of dollars go back to community teams and players, and their essential math for the US is “multiply that by ten”.

Please visit us at Indiegogo to make a donation; you’ll get rewards for your contribution and the pride of being associated with a company that practices good corporate citizenship with every transaction.
