Gordano Introduces GMS Cloud

Gordano Ltd., an international developer of comprehensive enterprise-class messaging products delivering scalability and reliability, announces the availability of GMS Cloud, a full service hosted messaging platform based on the Gordano Messaging Suite (GMS). In addition, Gordano announces the general availability of version 17.1 of GMS, which most notably introduces GMS Sync, enabling full synchronization of data from GMS to any mobile device. With GMS Sync, even mobile phone users without data plans or using basic handset can access email on their device.

“Email is a mission-critical application for our customers, and they are looking for solutions that will help them ease the time and challenges in managing their messaging environments,” said John Stanners, senior vice president, Gordano. “GMS Cloud offers a low entry cost to the Gordano Messaging Suite and provides a flexible and accessible option to those looking for a secure hosted messaging platform, enabling them to focus on their core business.”

GMS 17.1 introduces GMS Sync, which provides push email and synchronization to any mobile phone. Using a range of industry standards, GMS Sync delivers the best possible user experience from smartphones to basic handsets. Even for those without modern smart phones and data plans full featured functionality, including synchronization of calendars, contacts and tasks, is available. “With one out of five cell phone subscribers now using prepaid phones, and prepaid growth currently outpacing growth of contract-based customers*, GMS Sync enables mobile phone users without data plans to inexpensively and easily access email via SMS while on the move,” said Lisa Kirman, operations director, Gordano.

Other GMS 17.1 features include:

  • Support for the Arabic language, incorporating full support for right-to-left languages into the WebMail client
  • Additional optional HTML editor in WebMail provides users of all other languages a level of choice as to the look, feel and functionality required from the WebMail editor
  • Leveraging a partnership with Jatheon, GMS 17.1 integrates with an enterprise-level archiving solution that removes the archiving burden from the messaging server. The Jatheon archiving solution which is appliance based provides full support for compliance and e-discovery allowing companies to meet all of the requirements of these policies including the ability to place messages under “legal hold.”

The latest release of GMS is available immediately at no additional cost. GMS Cloud accounts start at $2.85 per month for Standard and $7.50 per month for Professional which includes full Outlook integration and is charged either monthly or annually. A minimum commitment of only five users is required (with discounts available for annual subscription requirements greater than 25 users) with the ability to add additional licenses online and provisioned immediately using a simple, clear administrative interface.
