Boys Like Girls Sophomore Album 'Love Drunk' Debuts In Billboard Top 10

NEW YORK, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Looks like Boys Like Girls have more than their fair share of Love Drunk fans as their sophomore album - Love Drunk - debuted at #8 on the Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart with over 40,000 albums sold. The title track, and the band's first single, has shot up the Top 40 Radio chart since it launched, and currently sits at #12 to go along with 13 new adds this week, including WKSC/Chicago and WWWQ/Atlanta. "Love Drunk" - the single - has already sold over 600,000 tracks since it was released two months ago.

Boys Like Girls' hectic release week began with the band performing on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live on September 8th, and ended with a free hometown area concert at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. Martin Johnson, lead singer of Boston bred Boys Like Girls, was also selected by the Patriots to sing the National Anthem at their Monday Night Football home opener this past Monday.

Love Drunk has received glowing reviews from such diverse outlets as People Magazine, Alternative Press, The New York Times, and Billboard Magazine who wrote ". . .these songs will be heard for many years to come." However, in the band's eyes, their biggest critics are the fans that have supported them over the past three years - and BLG plans to thank those fans with a live and interactive performance through Facebook this evening (Sept 16th) at 7pm. With the support of Livestream, the band will both perform new songs and take questions from fans in real time throughout their performance which can be viewed by all BLG Facebook fans' news feeds.

Boys Like Girls - Martin Johnson (vocals, guitar), Paul DiGiovanni (lead guitar, vocals), Brian Donahue (bass guitar, vocals) and John Keefe (drums) - will start a headline tour presented by OP with Cobra Starship supporting on October 14, in Buffalo, NY.
