'Treads For Threads' Clothing Donations Down 40% From Last Year

DENVER, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- With only three weeks remaining, clothing donations to Big O Tires' "Treads For Threads" drive are 40% below last year.   According to the National Alliance to end Homelessness, Colorado has over 14,000 residents who are considered homeless.  This number is expected to increase by over 1,700 people due to the current economic conditions. Over 15,700 people, many of whom are children, do not have enough winter coats, hats, boots, gloves, sweaters, etc. to combat the blistering cold Colorado experiences during winter months.

Now is the time to clear out those closets, and start the year off fresh.  Donate your unwanted winter clothing to Big O Tires' "Treads For Threads."  Simply drop off coats, hats, gloves, sweaters, boots, socks, thermals, scarves, etc. to any one of the 45 Big O Tires locations across the Front Range, Colorado Springs, Northern Colorado and Pueblo.  Donated items will be given away for free to Colorado's less fortunate through ARC Thrift Stores and Volunteer's of America on January 18th.

For more information and a list of locations, visit www.treadsforthreads.com.
