Vision Receives Purchase Order From the Port of Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Vision Industries Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: VIIC), producers of the zero emission electric/hydrogen hybrid Tyrano™ truck, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a purchase order from the Port of Los Angeles, for a zero emission Class 8 hybrid electric truck. The cost to purchase the zero emission truck will not exceed $280,000 including sales tax. The resulting zero emission truck would be one of only a handful of zero emission Class 8 hybrid trucks operating in the world.

Geraldine Knatz, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles stated, “Zero emissions technology is no longer a futuristic concept, and this remarkable truck presents us with another opportunity to test and advance the use of tomorrow’s technologies in today’s diesel-dominant port trucking environment.”

John Holmes, Deputy Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles stated, “This truck will be used for moving the City of Los Angeles Harbor Department’s TransPORTer exhibit. As announced on Jan. 14, 2010 (click here to view announcement), we continue to negotiate with Vision for the purchase and evaluation of Vision’s hydrogen fuel cell hybrid-electric trucks.  The heavy-duty big-rigs will be tested to evaluate their suitability for short and medium distance cargo-hauling (or “drayage”) operations, and other similar applications.”
