GCG Promotes Christi Cannon to Director, Business Development

MELVILLE, N.Y., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The Garden City Group, Inc. (GCG), one of the largest claims administration firms in the country, today announced that Christi Cannon has been promoted to director of business development. She has been with the firm since 2007 and was previously a senior account executive.

Based in Atlanta, Cannon supervises client projects and assists with new business efforts. Her expertise in complex litigation allows her to address the specific needs of clients throughout the United States.  She has expertise representing both plaintiffs and defendants and provides GCG with unique insight to meet the needs of all parties in litigation.

"Christi has been an outstanding ambassador for GCG since joining our company and has been successful in securing many new assignments in both the class action and bankruptcy arenas," said David Isaac, GCG's chief executive officer. "In addition to her day-to-day duties, Christi will be responsible, among other things, for managing the class action business development team."

Prior to joining GCG, Cannon practiced law at Chitwood & Harley LLP and Troutman Sanders LLP in Atlanta. She was partner of her own law firm, where she represented individual and institutional investors. Later, she joined Schiffrin & Barroway LLP in New York City, where she litigated the largest securities class action in history, Initial Public Offering Securities Litigation, pending in the Southern District of New York.

"I am grateful for this recognition and to be part of GCG's industry-leading team," said Cannon. "I look forward to making further contributions to GCG's high standards of professionalism, client commitment and service."

Cannon was named "Georgia Super Lawyer" by Atlanta and Law and Politics magazines in 2005, placing her in the top 5 percent of all attorneys in Georgia and among the top securities litigation attorneys in the state.

Cannon is a magna cum laude graduate of Auburn University and earned her law degree from Emory University School of Law, where she was named to Order of the Barristers.
