PEARL RIVER, N.Y., March 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Millennium Pipeline Company, L.L.C. today announced that Joseph Shields has been named President of the company.
Shields replaces Rocco D'Alessandro, who served as Millennium's president since May of 2012. D'Alessandro has decided to retire and relocate back to the Chicago area to be with his family.

Shields returns to Millennium after serving various senior leadership roles at NiSource's (NYSE: NI) Columbia Pipeline Group (CPG) – with responsibilities in business development, customer service, operations, regulatory and marketing areas.
Prior to joining CPG, Shields served as president of Millennium, where he optimized the pipeline's strategic location, delivery points and status as a low variable-cost pipeline, to create an ideal choice for both Marcellus Shale producers and local distribution companies throughout the Northeast.
Prior to that, Shields previously served as executive vice president and COO of New Jersey Resources (NJR). At NJR, he was responsible for natural gas supply acquisition, negotiating transportation agreements and the development of NJR Energy Services from its inception to its current standing as a successful energy marketing company operating throughout the U.S. and Canada. Shields holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Stockton State College and has completed the Changing the Game: Negotiation and Competitive Decision Making program at Harvard Business School. He also served on the Advisory Board for the School of Business at Montclair University.
