Shernoff Bidart Echeverria Bentley: Singh Family Serves Public Records Requests

STOCKTON, Calif., July 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The family of Misty Holt-Singh, the Stockton wife and mother tragically killed during the botched July 16, 2014 bank robbery at Bank of the West, has served a public records request on several local agencies seeking information to help answer questions as to how such a tragedy could have occurred.

Those entities include:

  • Stockton Police Department
  • San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office
  • California Highway Patrol
  • Lodi Police Department

"The Singh family has been crushed by this horrible tragedy and are searching for answers," said Gregory L. Bentley, partner at Shernoff Bidart Echeverria Bentley LLP. Mr. Bentley and Mr. Singh met with Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones on July 29, 2014 to discuss the process by which information will be imparted to the family. "The family is seeking answers as to how such a wonderful woman could be lost in such a horrific fashion."

The public records request is attached and seeks information such as:

  • Any incident reports, accident reports, records of 911 calls, radio calls, service logs, or requests for service from police or fire, regarding the incidents which occurred that day
  • Local, municipal, and police policies, reports, and assessments of law enforcement protocol for dealing with kidnappings armed robbery and use of deadly force
  • Photographs, videos, and other evidence documenting the incident
  • Reports, police call history, and investigations concerning prior robberies at the Bank of the West located at 7810 Thornton Road, Stockton, CA 95207
