The GurKirpa Health Network hospital is in the initial stages of its incorporation and a 26 bed drug rehabilitation center in Panjab. At the hospital takes care of the immediate medical needs of children and adults. The drug rehabilitation programme aims to tackle the intensive and toxic problem of drugs in Panjab. The state has the second highest rate of drug dependants in the whole of India, with 73.5% of Panjab's youth addicted to drugs such as heroin, hashish, cocaine, smack and cannabis. This problem is widely considered to be spiralling out of control and this drug hurricane could affectively extinguish the state of Panjab.

Gurpreet Singh Rai, Chairman of SDKA International, one of the world's leading unified commodities suppliers, said: "Many Sikhs today are in powerful positions and are capable of assisting their own people in need, as well as others. Through this hospital I am able to help the individuals and families who are affected by the drug abuse epidemic and medical difficulties in Panjab. SDKA International is proud to sponsor and support the GurKirpa Health Network. I hope to encourage other Sikhs around the world who are in a position of influence to help this great cause."

The GurKirpa Health Network has the ability to transform the lives of many individuals within Panjab, as well as impacting over 40,000 people and 26 villages in the region and operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sikh Aid Director, Gurvinder Singh said: "This donation by SDKA International is a fantastic starting point and benchmark , however, the work has only just begun and we desperately need more people to step forward to help reinforce the GurKirpa Health Network to reach its maximum potential and save Punjab."
