Lincoln Technical Institute in New Britain, CT Announces Training in CNC Machining to Support Manufacturing in Northeastern U.S.

WEST ORANGE, N.J., Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (NASDAQ: LINC), a national leader in specialized technical training and a driving force in helping students turn their passion into professional success, has announced it will expand its Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining and Manufacturing Technology career training program to its Lincoln Technical Institute campus in New Britain, CT.  With the need for skilled, trained CNC machinists projected to grow 17% across Connecticut, and with nearly 6,000 CNC-related jobs being added across the country every year, Lincoln's newest program offering is expected to provide an influx of new talent to manufacturing facilities throughout the Northeast.

Lincoln is continuing its partnership with manufacturing leader Haas Automation, Inc., and the program curriculum will be built around the specific skills needed by hiring managers at Haas clients and other CNC facilities.  Shaun McAlmont, Lincoln's CEO, says the program launch is a unique opportunity to serve the needs of both Connecticut's workforce and the American manufacturing industry at large.

"Manufacturing facilities are starting to return to the U.S.A. after being outsourced overseas for many years, and it is driving a need for CNC operators and set-up technicians," McAlmont explains.  "Lincoln's program prepares students to join an industry that's helping bring about a shift in our nation's economy."

Around the country, Lincoln schools provide hands-on skilled training to help graduates overcome the skills gap that exists in many of America's most vital industries – including Automotive Technology, Nursing and other healthcare fields, Information Technology, Electrical Technology, Welding and HVAC.  In 2013, Lincoln became one of the nation's first proprietary schools to offer CNC career training when it introduced programs at its campuses in Grand Prairie, TX and Indianapolis, IN.  In October 2014, CNC Machining and Manufacturing Technology training was launched at Lincoln Technical Institute in Mahwah, NJ to answer the growing demand in the Northeast for candidates with this complex, in-demand skill set.

"For nearly 70 years, Lincoln schools around the country have prepared students for hands-on careers that drive our economy, strengthen the nation's infrastructure, and improve our quality of life," McAlmont says.  "Our training programs are tailored to the skills hiring managers are looking for."

"Our campus is very excited to be able to bring this training program to the students of Connecticut," says New Britain Campus President Marie Acker.  "In addition to building critical hands-on skills, Lincoln students also receive professional development as they train.  This ensures they will be ready to pursue exciting, rewarding entry-level jobs that can lead to long-term careers."

"When students commit themselves to doing everything they need to do in their job search, the support they receive from our Career Services team can open doors that might otherwise remain closed," Acker adds.  "We work with an extensive network of industry partners, and we advocate tirelessly to ensure each Lincoln graduate is given every opportunity to launch a career they love."

The CNC Machining and Manufacturing Technology program at New Britain is scheduled to begin in mid- to late-2015, pending state and regulatory approvals.  The diploma program will prepare graduates to sit for Level 1 Certifications, which demonstrate mastery of machining materials, job planning and safety, MasterCAM software, and manufacturing processes such as CNC milling and turning.
