FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Thanks to the generosity of the employees at the Home Depot in Coconut Creek, Fla., the individuals with disabilities in Victory Living Programs' Adult Day Training Program can now enjoy a new and improved garden. Recently, the employees at the Home Depot donated materials and volunteered their time to rebuild the Program's Serenity Garden.

"The garden was built seven or eight years ago and it needed to be freshened-up, so I approached Home Depot in Coconut Creek," said Bobbi Wigand, Executive Director of Victory Living Programs.
They readily agreed to undertake the project.
"We always try to help out the community any way we can," said Joshua Phillips, a supervisor at Home Depot in Coconut Creek. "Victory Living just wanted a couple flowers, but I took a trip out there and decided we could do a little more. More than $2,000 in supplies later, we had installed new pavers, sod, mulch, plants and a bench, and even did some pressure cleaning."
Now, just as before, Victory Living's Adult Day Training Program clients have a garden that provides practical and intangible benefits.
"The garden not only provides a very peaceful and relaxing place for our clients to socialize," said Wigand, "but it also offers them the opportunity to hone their gardening skills."
