Houston Methodist Cypress Emergency Care Center (ECC) ground breaking ceremony

HOUSTON, Nov. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Houston Methodist Cypress Emergency Care Center is less than a year away from opening its doors. Dozens of people including members of the Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital Board of Trustees and the leadership team attended the ground breaking ceremony on November 17. The new facility will be located on the Northwest corner of Highway 290 and Fairfield Creek Drive - near the Highway 290 and Mueschke Road exit (on the westbound side).

Houston Methodist Cypress Emergency Care Center will be equipped to treat ill and injured patients of all ages, including children. The facility is approximately 9,600 square feet and will contain 10 treatment rooms, general radiology capabilities (x-ray), computerized tomography imaging (CT), ultrasound and full on-site laboratory services. With a dedicated ambulance entrance, the facility will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Houston Methodist Cypress Emergency Care Center will be staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians specializing in emergency care, working alongside trained nursing and ancillary staff that have extensive experience in emergency care. For conditions requiring hospital admissions or further evaluation, the staff will facilitate transfers to Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital or a facility with the appropriate level of care.
