The school also offers a Blended Learning program, which is available through two Learning Centers that LAVCA operates in Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Students receive face-to-face instruction with a state-certified teacher for part of the week, while the remainder of weekly instruction is facilitated through virtual learning sessions.

"LAVCA makes it possible for Louisiana students to access an outstanding education, no matter where they live or what their learning style might be," said Dr. Perry Daniel, Head of School at Louisiana Virtual Charter Academy. "Our online program provides students with resources and opportunities that aren't readily available in some traditional schools, and our Blended Learning program offers the best of both worlds."

LAVCA families benefit from the flexibility that comes with online access to an engaging, rigorous curriculum. Students do not need to move at the same pace that an entire classroom would move – they can move more quickly or take more time depending on how swiftly they master certain skills and concepts. Thus, LAVCA is designed to give each student an individualized learning experience.

LAVCA provides courses in language arts/English, math, science, history, art, music and world languages. The high school course catalog is robust, offering more than 130 core, elective and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Math, English, science and history courses are offered in multiple versions to meet the needs of diverse learners with diverse goals. Students graduate with a high school diploma that meets all state requirements.

LAVCA hosts a series of online information sessions as a way to help parents learn about the program. Find details about the upcoming events and more about the school at its website here: http://lavca.k12.com/.
