National Institutes of Health Award Leidos Three Information Technology Support Task Orders

RESTON, Va., Nov. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a FORTUNE 500® science and technology company, was awarded three task orders by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to provide information technology solutions in support of the National Heart Lung Blood Institutes (NHLBI) Information Technology and Applications Center (ITAC).  The single-award firm fixed-price task orders have a combined contract value of approximately $45 million. Work will be performed primarily in Bethesda, Md.

The ITAC directs and implements a broad range of business, research, and clinical informatics programs in support of the biomedical research mission of the NHLBI. Since 2012, Leidos has partnered with NHLBI to improve system stability, remove unsupported applications, improve application security, and provide cost-effective solutions. Applying a tested software quality process, including Agile and DevOps, Leidos will continue to work to ensure the stability of the maintenance portfolio of applications while keeping those applications up-to-date and compliant. Software development experts will also perform modifications to applications in the portfolio in response to various needs including end-user change requests, compliance with agency mandates, remediation of identified security vulnerabilities, and other opportunities to improve system functionality and efficiency.
