Corporate Knights Ranks the Royal Canadian Mint Among Canada's Top Ten Best Corporate Citizens

OTTAWA, June 8, 2018 /CNW/ - The Royal Canadian Mint has been ranked sixth among Corporate Knights' Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada.

"After years of hard work it is very rewarding to be recognized by Corporate Knights for our environmental leadership, innovation and diversity," said Sandra Hanington, President and CEO of the Royal Canadian Mint.

Corporate Knights is a Toronto-based media and research company that produces rankings and financial product ratings based on corporate sustainability performance. Its annual corporate citizenship recognition program is a respected benchmark for corporate sustainability leadership in Canada.

Highlights of the Mint's outstanding performance include reducing water use and CO2 emissions as a result of focused efforts, process improvements and investing in innovation. The Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada ranking is based on 17 indicators which cover aspects that include environmental performance, innovation capacity, compensation and benefits, and safety performance. The Mint was evaluated against other Canadian corporations.  In all, 232 companies were included in the study.
