(NYSE: HUM) announced an agreement that will allow Humana's dental members to choose a dentist in their network from an online directory and book an appointment from the same platform. LocalMed's platform will provide a seamless scheduling experience for members and generate more appointments for providers.

Under this new initiative, dental offices that utilize LocalMed's online scheduling software will be able to place a "Schedule Appointment Now" link on their listings in Humana's provider directory. This means patients searching for a dentist who accepts Humana insurance will be able to book an appointment directly from Humana's directory page.

All current LocalMed dentists that are in network with Humana will automatically have their directory listing upgraded to include the scheduling widget. The launch date for this implementation is February 22, 2019.
