Silicon Valley Internet Strategist Named 'Top 10 Who are Changing the World of Internet and Politics'

David Kralik joins Barack Obama, MTV, and Huffington Post as award recipients

WASHINGTON, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- American Solutions for Winning the Future today announced David Kralik, Director of Internet Strategy, was named one of the "Top 10 Who Are Changing the World of Internet and Politics." Kralik recently traveled as an honored guest to the World eDemocracy Forum in Paris, France to receive the prestigious award.

For the ninth consecutive year, PoliticsOnline has given the award to the "top 10 individuals, organizations and companies having the greatest impact on the way the Internet is changing politics." In addition to Kralik, Barack Obama, MTV's Choose or Lose, and Huffington Post's OffTheBus also made the top 10. Here is more information about the award:

This prestigious award seeks to recognize the innovators and pioneers, the dreamers and doers who bring democracy online. This year marked the toughest year ever in choosing the 25 finalists. The integration of politics and the Internet are reflected in this year's diverse, international nominees.

"I'm honored to receive this award for our work to bridge the gap between Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and Washington bureaucracies," said Kralik. "This is precisely why I moved from Capitol Hill to the Valley: to learn from the best of the private sector to establish ourselves as a leader in online politics. If we are serious about competing globally with China and India, it's time to move our obsolete, paper-based bureaucracies into a networked, information technology future."

American Solutions opened its technology headquarters in Silicon Valley in February 2008 with a YouTube video from former House Speaker and American Solutions General Chairman Newt Gingrich. With this office, American Solutions is one of the few national grassroots organizations with a visible presence in Silicon Valley.

Earlier this year, American Solutions harnessed the power of the Internet to bring together a broad coalition with an Internet-based petition drive called "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less." The petition received more than 1 million signatures in just 30 days and was widely credited with igniting the national debate over drilling. Internet videos promoting the petition have been viewed more than 4 million times.
