Harrison's Core Expertise Includes Web 2.0 Experience, Social Media, Marketing And Promotion
DETROIT, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning journalist, marketing and advertising professional Sheena M. Harrison joins Detroit-based Bassett & Bassett, Incorporated Communication Managers and Counselors as a communication manager and counselor, effective immediately. She is responsible for designing, managing and implementing strategic communication programs with an emphasis on social media and Web 2.0 applications.
Harrison brings a combination of journalism, marketing, advertising and Web 2.0 communication experience to Bassett & Bassett, following tenures in journalism, advertising and marketing.
Harrison, 29, was most recently Digital Editor, Campbell-Ewald Advertising, editing and writing for Chevrolet digital marketing and publishing, including managing Chevrolet Web sites. At Campbell Ewald, Harrison was part of a team that was awarded a Pearl Award for Best Web Publication from the Custom Publishing Council, the leading association for the custom publishing industry in North America.
Harrison was a reporter for Crain's Detroit Business with a focus on manufacturing, retail and small business, including writing a monthly "Small Biz Solutions" column. She was named the 2006 Michigan Small Business Journalist of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Before moving to Crain's, Harrison was a reporter for The Detroit News.
Sheena has a particular interest and professional experience in Web 2.0 applications for marketing and promotion, including blogs, social networking and social bookmarking.
Harrison has a B.A. in Journalism from the Michigan State University College of Communication Arts & Sciences. She is active in civic and professional associations including Online News Association, LinkEDs & writers, and Black Enterprise Networked.
