New Telehealth Pilot Project to Evaluate Technology Solutions for U.S. Market

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Home for Life Solutions(TM) and Tunstall Healthcare A/S announce a joint effort to design and implement the "Telehealth Pilot Project." The one-year Pilot Project will evaluate the use of wireless telehealth services based on Tunstall technology and products in the retirement community market and beyond, including the capacity, growth opportunities and patient satisfaction of the telehealth system.

"The goal of the Telehealth Pilot Project is to verify that wireless telehealth technology is cost effective, easy to use and non-threatening to participants. We hope the telehealth system utilizing daily monitoring and personable support from health care professionals will encourage patients to take charge of their health conditions and better manage their medical needs," said Katie Boyer, LMSW, Home For Life Solutions Director of Marketing and Business Development.

The Telehealth Pilot Project will introduce the telehealth model to a group of older adult participants with common chronic conditions to determine, among other things, their comfort level with telehealth and use of new wireless technology.

"What is exciting about the Telehealth Pilot Project is that Home For Life Solutions and Tunstall Healthcare A/S are on the leading edge of technology to develop a comprehensive system that gathers health data, analyzes the information and helps determine future action based upon benchmarks and health trends of the individual," said Greg Corpier, Home For Life Solutions Director of Technology Solutions.

Approximately 100 individuals from Home For Life Solutions customers and partners will be selected to participate. Initially, they will be selected based upon the health criteria; primarily patients suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or congestive heart failure (CHF).

Home For Life Solutions will manage the pilot project; install and provide training to participants on the technology products, and work with participating clinical staff as they monitor participants. Tunstall Healthcare A/S will provide the turnkey telehealth platform and installation, technical training and the technology tools for installation.

Tunstall's Wireless Telehealth Monitor will be featured in the Telehealth Pilot Project. This monitoring hub transmits data over cellular data networks and conventional phone lines from compatible peripheral medical devices such as weight scales and blood pressure monitors to caregivers.

Home For Life Solutions(TM) was launched in 2008, bringing advanced telecare technology and services common in Europe to the United States. HFLS offers three comprehensive components that enhance older adults' lifestyles while respecting their privacy: in-home health screening, medication management, and safety and security technology.
