Applied Optoelectronics falls short

Third quarter earnings climbed for Applied Optoelectronics Inc. (Nasdaq: AAOI) to 11 cents per share compared with 4 cents per share in the year ago period but the results missed expectations sending the stock price plummeting $3.76 to close at $11.92.
