Amgen Inc. (Nasdaq: AMGN) will pay a premium of approximately $10.4 billion in cash to acquire Onyx Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: ONXX). Shares of Amgen leaped $8.15 to close at $113.75 while Onyx stock jumped $6.53 to close at $123.49.
