The Kneeling Bus Releases "Some Girls" Remix EP; Pays Tribute to Eight Decades of Women in Pop Music with Sgt. Pepper Inspired Cover Art

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., June 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Kneeling Bus today released globally a digital EP of remixes for their single "Some Girls" through their website, The release comes off the success of the double A-side single of "Some Girls," coupled with the track "Galore," which sold over 9,000 copies in physical units alone when it was released in April. The "Some Girls" remix EP can be found at

Released in both explicit and clean versions, the remix EP includes new productions of "Some Girls" by Draper Marquez, Desire On Top and International Pop Finnomenon. Both releases include a digital booklet featuring a mock 12" gatefold sleeve and label art produced by London based design group Dirty Watson.

The artwork was inspired by The Beatles' 1967 album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," released 45 years ago today, and features a vast collective of female artists, ranging from Bessie Smith to Bjork, whose music helped shape and define the course of popular music over the past 80 years.

"We actually designed what is now the cover for the 'Some Girls' EP over two years ago when we were working on the album art for 'All Hail! The Kneeling Bus,'" explains Lebaron Pope, a creative lead at Dirty Watson. "The artwork was eventually vetoed by the band, but with the passing of Etta James and Whitney Houston earlier this year, and more recently Donna Summer, the guys, as we all did, thought it would be fitting to revisit the artwork for the cover of the EP and acknowledge these extraordinary women in tribute for their musical contributions."

"Some Girls" is the fourth single from The Kneeling Bus' 2011 album, "All Hail! The Kneeling Bus," and is co-written by Vincent Montana, Jr. and keyboardist and co-founder of The Kneeling Bus, Duie Byte. The song is published by Lemon Meringue Music (ASCAP)/Sony/ATV Latin Music Publishing LLC A/C Little Jack Music Company/Anatom Music (BMI). "Some Girls" includes samples of "Ooh, I Love It (Love Break)" as performed by The Salsoul Orchestra and a spoken introduction by Helena Bonham Carter and Samuel West taken from the 1992 film version of the E. M. Forster novel, "Howards End."

The Kneeling Bus formed in 2003 originally as a hardcore punk outfit called The Virgin Suicides before changing their name and turning their attention to dance music. The Kneeling Bus achieved worldwide cult status amongst the underground dance and IDM set with their earlier releases, "Fairchild Dans L'Monophonique," "Aftermath" and "Let Me Beat On It," and have been cited as one of the forerunners of the 90's house music revival movement. The Kneeling Bus is currently working on the follow up to their album "All Hail! The Kneeling Bus."

Recorded in Reading, Berkshire, England and Charming Forge, Pa, "All Hail! The Kneeling Bus" was produced by Dave Bosch and The Kneeling Bus.
