Mysterium VPN has launched a new Linux command-line client, bringing VPN access directly to the terminal for Ubuntu and Debian users.

-- Mysterium VPN announced the launch of its Linux command-line client, expanding VPN support to Ubuntu and Debian users.

The new client, called mystvpn, allows users to authenticate, choose a location and IP type, connect to the VPN, check their connection status, refresh their connection, and disconnect directly from the terminal.

Designed for Linux users who prefer command-line tools or work in environments without a graphical interface, the client can be used on remote servers, containers, build machines, and other setups where VPN connections need to be managed through the terminal or scripts.

The Linux client supports both Mysterium VPN’s Residential and High-speed IP options. Users can view available countries for their selected IP type and connect to a chosen location using its two-letter country code.

Authentication is handled through a browser handoff rather than requiring users to enter their password in the terminal. The authentication command generates a URL that users can open and approve through their Mysterium VPN account, keeping account credentials out of shell history.

Users can install the client through Mysterium VPN’s official installer, which detects the system architecture and handles the required dependencies, or download the .deb package directly from GitHub Releases.

The Mysterium VPN Linux command-line client is now available for Ubuntu and Debian users. Mysterium VPN currently offers access to a global pool of 7,500+ residential IP addresses across 100+ countries.
