North Texas Real Estate Information Systems, Inc. (NTREIS), the premier multiple listing service (MLS) in North Texas and Northwest Louisiana, today announced the appointment of industry veteran and licensed attorney René Galicia as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Galicia will oversee strategic operations and serve as NTREIS’s principal legal advisor, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to mitigating operational risk, regulatory leadership, and delivering value to subscribers amid a rapidly evolving real estate landscape.

Galicia brings over two decades of real estate industry experience, including nearly 15 years in progressive MLS leadership roles. Most recently, as Chief Operating Officer of the Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS), the national trade organization for more than 235 member MLSs. There, he oversaw daily operations, spearheaded member engagement, advanced thought leadership on key industry issues, and delivered internal legal support and strategic guidance.

In this newly created role at NTREIS, Galicia will support strategic planning; member and shareholder engagement; technology and data governance; vendor and partnership management; compliance and risk management; and business development efforts. He joins NTREIS at a pivotal moment as the MLS advances modernization initiatives and strengthens its national voice while elevating local service.

Before CMLS, Galicia served as EVP, Policy Counsel & Strategic Partnerships at Bright MLS, leading customer operations for the largest MLS in the nation. He led customer satisfaction efforts, major efficiency gains, and expansion via acquisitions and partnerships. Previously, he served as Director of MLS Engagement at NAR, supporting 1.4 million members, and he held leadership roles at CRMLS, ultimately directing Compliance & Data Licensing for 38 Associations.
