LONGMONT, Colo. - Jan. 14, 2023 - PRLog -- Education is important and how one approaches education is valuable. Every assignment matters, each textbook is meaningful, and your future is essential. As students prepare for their academic future, it is crucial to consider different ways to approach college. While some students may enter the workforce after high school, others may attend college. Though it can be intimidating, here are a few tips for when you begin your journey into college applications and attendance.
Collect Letters of Recommendation
Something people often forget is that many schools ask for letters of recommendation. Most likely, they will ask for letters from staff members in your school and employers regarding who you are as a person and as a student. Ultimately, asking teachers and people who have watched you perform tasks (outside of family) to write letters for you is good. It is also imperative to ask for letters promptly and immediately, as letters can take time. Don't wait last minute for these!
Build Your Writing Skills
Essays. These may feel intimidating. However, essays are often another document a college may ask you for. While the essay topic may vary by year and school, you can continue to practice essay writing and seek help on essays you plan to submit to a college. Some essays may be about you as an individual, so ensure honesty but don't sell yourself short! You are the one maintaining your future, so consider how you advertise to schools you are interested in!
Free Application Day
Get into your school and save money! Many schools will require an application fee which can add up if you plan to apply to multiple schools. Keep an eye out for deadlines and days when you can apply to schools for free. This may exclude some colleges, but their website often states that information.
