SRM, a trusted advisory firm serving financial institutions globally, announced that the Honorable Rodney E. Hood, former Acting Comptroller of the Currency and Chairman of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), has rejoined the company’s International Advisory Board, reprising a role he played prior to his appointment at the OCC.
Mr. Hood is a distinguished financial services executive and board director with nearly three decades of leadership in banking, regulation, risk management, and financial inclusion. He has held multiple presidential appointments, serving in the Administrations of President George W. Bush and President Donald J. Trump, including service as Acting Comptroller of the Currency and as Chairman of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
In doing so, he became the first individual in U.S. history to lead both federal regulatory agencies responsible for insured depository institutions. While Acting Comptroller, he also served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), as a voting member of the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC), and as Chairman of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC).
“I’ve known and admired Rodney for many years, and we’re thrilled to welcome him back to SRM’s International Advisory Board following his work as Acting Comptroller of the Currency,” said Brad Downs, Chief Executive Officer at SRM. “Rodney’s deep knowledge of the global financial services ecosystem, his passion for innovation and technology, and his commitment to financial inclusion make him an ideal advisor to SRM.”
In addition to rejoining SRM’s board, Mr. Hood currently serves as an independent director on the boards of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and Zest AI.
“SRM cares deeply about the operational sustainability of its clients. They embrace fintech and the need to adapt and evolve. SRM and its leaders are trusted collaborators making a lasting impact from the boardroom through to the branch,” said Rodney E. Hood. “I’m excited to rejoin this group of global advisors and help SRM find new ways to serve its mission and achieve lofty goals.”
SRM’s International Advisory Board includes senior leaders from banking, payments, fintech, technology, and customer experience who advise SRM on strategy, risk, and growth.
