IEE Exhibiting Lineup of Rugged Displays at AUSA 2025

Support for Vehicle Protection Systems and Counter UAS

Industrial Electronic Engineers (IEE), a leading provider of ruggedized display systems for military applications, will present its latest display technologies at the AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, D.C., October 13th–15th. Rugged multi-function displays (MFDs) are essential for military vehicles to ensure safety and operational effectiveness. They also support detection, tracking, and the neutralization of small, hostile Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).

Advanced rugged MFDs are central to an ergonomic and efficient crew station to manage growing operator workload for systems with increasing capability. They serve as the interface for fire control systems and other networked battle management tools, enabling rapid target identification and engagement. MFDs also take-in and fuse real-time data from various sensors on and off-board the vehicle to create a holistic Common Operating Picture (COP).

The primary interface for visualizing C-UAS sensor data is the MFD, including radar tracks, RF sign detection, and optical/thermal camera feeds. They can display the drone’s flight path, range, and classification (if known) overlaid on a 3D tactical map. MFDs are critical to the Observe, Orient, Decide and Act (OODA) loop that enables soldiers to rapidly neutralize UAS threats on the battlefield.

“Our focus is on a modular framework that simplifies system integration to address rapidly evolving threats,” said Steve Motter, VP of Business Development at IEE. “MFDs are a critical component for enhancing military vehicle maneuverability, survivability, and lethality. These displays go beyond simple visuals, acting as integrated human-machine interfaces that aggregate, process, and present mission-critical data in harsh operational environments.”

13.3-Inch Full HD MFD Video Display

Engineered for use in both airborne and ground-based military vehicles, this 13.3-inch full-HD monitor delivers exceptional video clarity in a compact, widescreen format. Its low-profile bezel allows for seamless side-by-side mounting, making it ideal for panoramic display configurations. As a line-replaceable unit (LRU), it ensures consistent operation across platforms and is available with an optional touchscreen interface for added interactivity.

13.3-inch Key Specifications:

  • Enhanced, High-Bright 13.3” LCD
  • Contrast Ratio: 800:1 (typical)
  • Display Luminance (max): > 1,000 cd/m2
  • Full-HD (1920x1080) LCD bonded with high-strength cover glass including EMI shield, heater and anti-reflective/glare treatments
  • LED backlight supports both high-bright day (daylight readable) and NVIS (night vision imaging system) modes
  • 8 backlit soft key bezel layout
  • 2x Composite NTSC/PAL; 1x 3G-SDI
  • Inputs/Outputs: UART Serial Interface

Also featured at AUSA will be IEE’s 10.1 WUXGA Avionics MFD.

IEE’s 10.1-inch rugged mission display, is designed for demanding airborne environments, including fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. Featuring a vibrant WUXGA (1920x1200) AMLCD, it provides outstanding brightness and a wide viewing angle. A dual-mode LED backlight ensures visibility in both direct sunlight and NVIS-compliant low-light conditions.

  • 10.1-inch Key Specifications:
  • 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920x1200) color LCD
  • Brightness: 1,100 cd/m2 typical
  • Contrast Ratio: 800:1
  • Viewing Angle: ± 85º H / ± 85º V
  • 31 programmable tactile bezel pushbuttons, with NVIS-filtered, compatible backlighting
  • Control Interfaces:
    • 3 rocker switches
    • One brightness encoder
    • Programmable dual-concentric encoder and 8-way joystick
  • On-screen display (OSD) managed via bezel keys
