Major General (ret.) Patrick Roberson
Reach develops wireless power beaming systems that enable persistent operations of electronic devices. Its wireless power transfer technology (WPT) uses radio frequency (RF) energy to power numerous, moving, and hard-to-reach devices such as unattended ground sensors (UGS), small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS), ground robots and other electronic equipment. This technology reduces dependency on foreign-made batteries and the need for manual battery management.
“Operational energy is now a pacing factor,” said Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Patrick Roberson. “As unmanned and autonomous systems proliferate, units need ways to keep sensors, drones, and edge devices powered without adding risk or logistics burden. I’m excited to help Reach accelerate fielding of wireless power where it matters most.”
“Maj. Gen. Roberson brings hard-won special operations forces and joint experience at the tactical and institutional levels,” said Chris Davlantes, Founder & CEO of Reach. “His perspective on readiness, training pipelines, and combat employment will help us align our tech and transition pathways with real-world mission needs.”
Roberson holds an M.S. in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School, an M.A. in Strategic Studies from the Army School of Advanced Military Studies, complemented by executive coursework in leadership and strategic thinking from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Roberson previously commanded the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (USAJFKSWCS), overseeing the training and education of Special Forces, Psychological Operations, and Civil Affairs forces, and led Special Operations Joint Task Force–Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq and Syria, contributing to the defeat of ISIS’s physical caliphate in 2019.
His awards include the Army Distinguished Service Medal (DSM), Defense Superior Service Medal (DSSM), Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and various other unit and service awards.
