His achievements were recognized nationally when he was named Engineer of the year in 2002 by HENAAC.

Since his retirement in 2002, Muñoz has embraced new passions as an award-winning photographer and as president of the Artists of Palm Beach County during the pandemic, where his leadership helped the organization thrive.
