Redesigned clock face shows critical twilight periods for photography, outdoor activities, aviation, and more

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - April 23, 2026 - PRLog -- Skyclock®, the sun calculator, has launched a web-based version of its software that initially will be free at their website (www.skyclock.com). This follows successful app deployments by in the App Store and Google Play.

Skyclock delivers a pictograph of sun events for the user's exact location, laid on an analog clock face. Pie-slice segments show sunrise and sunset, along with civil twilight, nautical twilight, and astronomical twilight. These times change every day based on date and the user location.

"Skyclock is a paradigm change in the way we view time," says John Rosevear, Skyclock's inventor and CEO. "It is the most significant addition to the analog clock face since the second hand or date function."

Skyclock uses GPS, cell towers and/or wi-fi to determine the user's device location to calculate and render the image.

Skyclock has been used by photographers, pilots, and outdoor sports enthusiasts such as golfers, campers, and hunters since its introduction as a reliable guide to maximizing daylight hours for safety and activity.

"For much of the world's population, the times of sunset and sunrise will vary, even up to 5 hours from summer to winter. Skyclock makes it easy to understand the user's personalized, local information," says Rob Baxtresser, President of Skyclock.

Rosevear, a decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corps, has made a life-long study of globally applicable time-display and the sun. His deployment on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lexington accelerated that interest.

An enhanced version is also available for $3.65 (U.S.) which delivers user-requested features including a Golden Hour graphic, simultaneous 12- and 24-hour clock displays, and the ability to manually input GPS coordinates to show other locations.
